Rescue Ready and
Active Standby Teams

There are two states of readiness for our STARS Rescue Teams:
  • Rescue Ready — The rescuers are partially suited–up at the work space, providing air and fire watch, and ready to begin a rescue operation immediately. Active in site safety project management and incident prevention as well as permitting, atmospheric monitoring, entry logs and safety logs.

  • Active Standby — Rescuers are onsite and their equipment is rescue ready, they engage in training workers, performing hazard assessments, developing rescue plans, atmospheric monitoring, other safety–related tasks, and most important: putting a STOP to accidents!

Most projects involve a combination of these readiness states.

Confined Space Safety Programs

Safety Training and Rescue Services Inc. can help your company identify and classify permit and no permit required confined spaces in your work place and develop programs for preventing unauthorized access and procedures for confined space entry by your employees.

THE REGULATIONS REQUIRE:

  1. Employers to inform employees of the existence of confined spaces in the workplace and to develop a written program for entry into confined spaces when employees enter these areas
  2. Employers to implement measures to prevent unauthorized entry into confined spaces, and
  3. Employers to provide confined space safety training to employees entering confined spaces.

HOW IS A CONFINED SPACE DEFINED?

Under OSHA’s regulations, a confined space simply is any space which meets the following three criteria:

  1. Is large enough and so configured so as to allow for bodily entry,
  2. Has limited or restricted means for entry or exit, and
  3. Is not designed for continuous worker occupancy.
